If we go to the literal meaning of the phrase then I agree with you except for the last three words, which should be 'does not exist' instead of 'was never created'.
On the other hand this is just a picture from a ruined church, and this justifies, on my own opinion, the title itself. See? It's a church, a building for god, and it's in ruins, so what's wrong with 'ruins of god'? david @ 03-05-2007 15:57:57
