There had been a forum about immigration in a village southeast of Madrid, Rivas, and this last night the last act was a show by Ojos de Brujo, the brilliant Goran Bregovic with his Funerals and Weddings Orchestra and Asian Dub Foundation. We went there mainly for Mr. Bregovic, who did an amazing show, futfilling all our expectations, which were very high. The place was extremely crowded and I just shot two more pictures that I liked at the end, no one of them of Bregovic's show (we were very busy then with the jumping, the dancing and the chants), so tomorrow I guess that another picture of the show could be uploaded.

This one is the roof of the scenary, without flash and with the lights as my camera got them. At that moment there wasn't anything happening, and there was that blue light that gave that cold and abstract air to the roof's structure... so I was forced to aim the camera there.

My name is David Ruiz, and I'm an amateur photographer from Madrid, Spain. I'd been running this photoblog since the 12th of may of 2006. What started like a simple way to make my photographs availiable for friends became soon enough in a curse in where I was trapped, having to post one photograph per day, no matter how. That method, besides being a curse for my health, turned to be quite funny, but also impossible to follow from time to time, when duties and lack of time sharpen their teeth. Now the basic idea is to post here a minimum of three times per week, and from there up to seven when I'm able to.
The first pictures where made with a compact Fujifilm camera. A couple of years later, I moved on to a SLR, and started using a Nikon D50. In the summer of 2008, I moved on again and started using a Canon EOS 40D, named Canita, being it now my primary (and most of times, unique) camera. I only have one lens, a Canon EF-ES 17-85 mm (though I'm starting to think in gettin a fixed 17mm as soon as I gather some money). Most of the shots are also done using a Hoya polarized filter, and recently some of them are also made through an Infrared Hoya filter.
All the pictures here are published through a Creative Commons license, thus you can use it in any way you can as long as you give me some credit (to include in the pacj a few words and a link back will always be considered gentle and nice) and don't earn money with them. For any comments or questions, feel free to use the comments form right here or drop me an e-mail to david (at) davidruiz (dot) eu.
Have a nice day and thanks for passing by; I hope you enjoyed the visit.
